The victim, identified as Manuel Oliva Contreras of East El Paso, was driving a 2019 Nissan Sentra southbound on Loop 375 when a dark-colored vehicle rear-ended him at a high rate of speed. Contreras was transported to a local hospital, where he was initially reported to have non-life-threatening injuries. Police later learned that he had died from his injuries.
