According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, this accident occurred along interstate 20 at FM 2015 in Tyler. DPS reports indicate that Harris and his passenger were traveling as part of a team involved in long-haul movements. Trucking Accidents and Regulations

Truck accidents are some of the most ravaging traffic collisions in which you can be involved, as trucks can weigh as much as 80,000 pounds when loaded to capacity.

Federal regulations need to be followed when training truck drivers, as well as equipment operation of commercial trucks. Violating these trucking regulations can lead to serious accidents.

There are many contributing factors to truck accidents. Some of the these include distracted driving, improper vehicle maintenance, and failure to control speed. If the truck driver is responsible for the accident, then their insurance company should compensate others who are injured as a result. However, if they do not accept responsibility for the damages, or importantly the correct amount of damages, and negotiations fail, then the case is likely to go to a trial.
